Storm effects on Maroubra beach

#Maroubra beach is one of the beaches that we survey as part of our Monitoring Program. We surveyed all beaches (Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte and Maroubra) before #Sydneystorm. Looking forward to seeing the changes in beach morphology once we survey again this week! This will be excellent data for our team Tommy Fellowes, Nghi Tran and Dom Shuttleworth on the storm response of embayed beaches.
The morning photo is a bit after high tide, the afternoon photo is a bit after low tide. More rocks exposed and changes visible on the beach. Significant wave heights of ~6m with maximum waves reaching 12 and 13 m! As the tide rises, more erosion will occur during tonight’s high tide at 8.30pm. We’ll be back tomorrow for more photos!
