Hot off the press! Reefal microbial crusts found in mid-Holocene reef from Okinawa Island, the Ryukyu Archipelago.

Please join me in congratulating GRG collaborator Professor Kazuhiko Fujita and his team the publication of our new paper in the journal Galexea.

Fujita, K., Sasaki., T., Koyano, S.,Chinen, M., Hongo, C.,  Webster, J.M., Iryu., Y.  Reefal microbial crusts found in mid-Holocene reef from Okinawa Island, the Ryukyu Archipelago. Galaxea. 22(1), 9-25. https://doi.org/10.3755/galaxea.22.1_9

This paper describes some really interesting reefal microbial crusts found in Holocene reef deposits around Okinawa and explores the key environmental factors they have controlled their development over the last 7,500 years.

Bravo Kazu and the team!

Cheers

Jody
