Hot off the press! Floating High Over Beaches and Dunes Without Wing, Chute or Rotor!

RV Southern Surveyor (MNF, CSIRO)

Please join me in congratulating of GRG member Mike Kinsela on the publication of his cool new paper in the Journal of Coastal Research.

Kinsela, M. A., Hubble, T. C. T., Webster, J. M., Clarke, S., Passos, T. U., Airey, D. W., and Mitchell, D., 2020, Floating High Over Beaches and Dunes Without Wing, Chute or Rotor: Journal of Coastal Research, v. 101, no. sp1. https://doi.org/10.2112/JCR-SI101-063.1

Not a traditional research/data paper but it is super read. The papers gives a really entertaining account what it is like to go to sea to do Marine Geoscience on a research ship like the RV Southern Surveyor – the venerable predecessor to the RV Investigator. Although I have to say in all my years of going offshore this was the first time sailing with a stowaway possum called Patrick!

Nice job Mike.

Cheers

Jody
