Hot off the press! Embayed beaches

Please join me in congratulating our GRG student Tommy Fellowes on the publication of a stunning paper in Marine Geology about the classification of Embayed Beaches using a morphometric parameter. Tommy is a former USYD student, currently doing his PhD at Macquarie University and is co-supervised by Ana Vila-Concejo.

Highlights

  • Generalised embayment morphometric parameter (γe) developed for embayed beaches
  • Four classes of embayed beach identified and characterised
  • Morphometric assessment of 168 swell-dominated embayed beaches in six regions
  • Identified six headland orientations with different impacts on embayed beaches
